Landscape / Grounds Maintenance Worker

Position Summary: Performs advanced landscaping / ground maintenance tasks (i.e. using all types of pesticides; pruning variety of plants; planting/ transplanting plant material; turf seeding / sodding; fertilizing; irrigating; miscellaneous seasonal grounds keeping chores.) In the course of these duties may operate mechanical / electrical equipment, e.g. lawn mowers, weed-eaters, etc. Must be able to report to work immediately; work locations may be anywhere in Augusta, Georgia, not always on bus line.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand for the entire length of the shift and position includes walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Education and/ or Experience

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required

1-2 year related experience preferred

Heavy Equipment Operator

Equipment Operator-Position Summary

  • Operate equipment used for construction purposes such as bobcats, cranes, bulldozers, brush-cat and general tools.
  • Ability to work in heavily wooded areas without fear of natural habitat animals
  • Build levels and excavate land surfaces using a variety of construction equipment.
  • Clear construction areas of debris and other hazardous materials prior to beginning a project.
  • Gather waste and debris from work areas and load them onto trucks to be disposed of.
  • Transport waste to appropriate locations.
  • Ensure that heavy equipment that is to be used on a construction project is cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Maintain and update inventory of supplies, material and equipment used in each project.
  • Make sure that heavy equipment is safe for use by performing constant checks.
  • Ensure that all equipment is safely stored at the end of each work day.
  • Take orders from supervisor for daily work tasks and provide feedback to supervisor on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that work reports are prepared/communicated at the end of each day to the supervisor.
  • Maintain knowledge of safe construction work practices and procedures.

Required Education and Skills

  • Minimum 1 (one) year construction experience
  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED
  • Possess a valid Class A Driver’s License
  • Ability to perform duties and operation of equipment and tools in strict compliance with OSHA.
  • Display some mechanical aptitude and possess good eye-hand coordination.
  • Must have knowledge on materials, tools, and processes involved with basic construction.
  • Must have appropriate work clothes and work boots
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Knowledge of machines and equipment including designs, uses, repair and maintenance.

Salary Range: $10.00 – $14.00 / Hour to start

Custodian

Position Summary: We are currently seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Custodian. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, flexible and willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises. The Janitor will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting and conference rooms, bathrooms, and public areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of flooring and stairs
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms
  • Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves and refrigerators
  • Restock supplies in bathrooms, supply closets and common areas throughout the building
  • Empty all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary
  • Dust and clean office desks and furniture that are not cluttered
  • Clean window sills and glass doors
  • Maintain janitor closet in a clean, organized and safe manner
  • Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition
  • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment at all times
  • General upkeep of the parking lots
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Position Summary: Miscellaneous physical labor tasks requiring considerable physical stamina, e.g. unloading trucks, pouring and shoveling sand, cleaning sludge from waste water filter drains. Must be able to report to work immediately; work locations may be anywhere in Augusta, Georgia, not always on bus lines, and vendors insurance must be able to cover temporary employees being driven to exact job site.
